The Rose of Versailles is a masterpiece that transcended the boundaries of girls' manga to become a worldwide hit. Conversely, The Window of Orpheus is a manga series that Riyoko Ikeda created with the conviction that it would be her life's work.

Both created in the 1970s, these works embody a universal sense of beauty and strength that continue to inspire courage in countless viewers.

In order to photograph the original illustrations and retouch the areas that have faded or deteriorated, Shueisha Manga-Art Heritage uses Phase One's Cultural Heritage, a high-precision, digital medium-format camera. After the image is restored to its original vibrancy, the artwork is then printed with lightfast ink on museum-quality paper made from 100% cotton.
