In March 2021, Shueisha Inc. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) launched a new business, Shueisha Manga-Art Heritage, with the vision of turning manga into works of art to pass down to future generations.
Using the finest in print technology and paper, Shueisha Manga-Art Heritage sells art prints with included blockchain-linked sales certificates. Of these art prints, The Press series of works printed on 100% cotton paper using a large flatbed letterpress, which is now rare around the world, has attracted particular attention since the service was launched. In December 2021, the series was awarded the grand prize in the art category of the Gmund Award in Germany.

On exhibition at this event are five pieces each from two works, Eiichiro Oda's ONE PIECE and Tite Kubo's BLEACH, totaling ten well-known scenes. Ten out of twenty copies of each edition will be on sale.

Manga expression has evolved around the use of a simple printing technique, letterpress printing. For this occasion, special Wajima lacquerware frames were made to accent these monochrome works. All of the works will be displayed in these lacquered frames. The jet-black frames are made with jinoko, a specialty product of Wajima, Ishikawa, as a base coating. Designed with great attention to the back and details, the frames will also be available for order.
